KARACHI: Komal Rizvi is back! The singer launched the video of her latest song Kalli Kalli at Port Grand Karachi on April 11th, 2014. The event was hosted by Bushra Ansari, and the star studded premiere saw a number of celebrities walking the red carpet, including Komal’s choreographer brother, Hasan Rizvi, who walked the red carpet with her. Other celebrities present at the event included Zeba Bakhtiyar, Moomal Sheikh, Goher, Beenish Parvez, and Nadya Mistry.

Director of Kalli Kalli Sohail Javed took to the stage to speak about his experience directing the Kalli Kalli video. “I would really like to thank Hasan and Komal for providing me with creative freedom and never questioning my ideas. Very few artists have the heart to do that. I make music videos for the sheer love of it hence getting a chance to do exactly what I envision truly means a lot”, said Sohail.

Before performing an unplugged version of Kalli Kalli, Komal Rizvi took the stage to say a few words. “I would like to thank everyone who has come here from the bottom of my heart. Music is my life and I don’t think I would be alive if I didn’t sing. I am a strong believer that as an entertainer if I am able to spread just a moment of positivity in someone’s life, my job is complete. I would specially like to thank Hasan who is the best brother any girl could ever want and my parents who have supported me endlessly in my journey. Last but not the least the Almighty for blessing me. Thank you!” said Komal.

According to the press release, the Kalli Kalli video centres on a theme on the four elements of earth, wind, fire and water and is a visual treat. Well, it’s true that it features the four basic elements but the overall product is as blande as any of Rizvi’s previous works. Its hard time for the brother–sister duo to decide what they want to with their music because so far nothing they have offered has managed to strike a chord. Even Rizvi’s choreography fails to create any sort of impact, who otherwise is one of the better choreographers from Pakistan’s nascent dance industry.
